He graduated from the Islamiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore in 1997 where he was selected as one of the top ten young technocrat of Bangalore,India by the Shaktishali Foundation.

Er.Alok Kumar has earlier worked as a Lecturer for I.I.E. Patna, B.I.A.Patna, S.A.M.T.Patna in Bihar.

He also worked with the Largest Private Shipyard in India -Western India Shipyard Limited,Goa

Born in 1973 into an Intellectual family,
Alok studied in schools in Varansi and Gaya;
and completed his engineering from I.I.T. Bangalore.

Water Board chairman and RJD leader Ashok Yadav 's murder

Patna mayor surrenders in murder case

Patna: The mayor of Patna, Krishna Murari Yadav, on Monday surrendered before a district court in connection with the murder of former Patna Water Board chairman and RJD leader Ashok Yadav last year. The mayor gave himself up before chief judicial magistrate Sushma Sinha who granted bail to the mayor on two sureties of Rs 10,000 each. On May 1, a single Bench of Justice Navin Sinha of the Patna High Court directed the mayor to surrender before the lower court within four weeks. Ashok Yadav was killed in a bomb attack while he was sitting in his office last year.
